This Friday, Nexus will host a a short talk by member Chris Jagger, aimed at raising some of the key facts pertaining to irregular migration, with a focus on the current situation in the Mediterranean. The talk will be followed by a facilitated audience discussion which will seek to identify and explore the various arguments and issues, and how they relate to Iceland. Chris will also summarize the findings of the round-table in a post-seminar report, which will be hosted on our website.

Following the events of the Arab Spring, and especially the intervention in Libya and the calls for action in Syria, the subject of humanitarian intervention once again appears to be on the agenda. What can the Arab Spring tell us about the state and future of human rights and justice in the international context?
